Mostly sunny skies and breezy southwesterly winds have kept ozone and particle pollution levels in the middle to upper Code GREEN range this afternoon. Cloud cover is expected to gradually increase this evening as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Chances of rain increase overnight through Wednesday morning as the front transits the state, though not much is expected in the way of precipitation totals. Skies may clear out late as the front departs to the southeast, but air quality levels should easily remain in the middle Code GREEN range. Cooler high pressure builds in from the north tomorrow night and will reside over the Triad through the end of the week. Ozone levels may see a slight increase in concentrations, but the decreasing daylight should easily lead to Code GREEN AQI Thursday and Friday. The cooler air mass should also remain fairly clean leading to low to middle Code GREEN AQI for particle pollution through the end of the week. (Payne)
