Synopsis and Discussion

Ozone readings are climbing to mid code YELLOW, Saturday, as sunny skies, lower humidity, and light winds lead to good ozone production. Particle pollution may also end the day code YELLOW. Similar weather will occur Sunday and Monday and will lead to a continuation of mid to upper code YELLOW ozone and particle pollution. A significant warming trend will begin Tuesday, which may push ozone to the upper end of code YELLOW or even higher..stay tuned. (GENTRY). *** Due to increased wildfire risk and severe drought across most of the state, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a statewide ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide. ***
